OSHA HazCom 2012
On March 26, 2012 OSHA adopted the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS) into the Hazard Communication Standard. All employers who have hazardous chemicals that an employee may be exposed to under normal operating conditions, are required to provide training about the new provisions of the Standard.

What Are The Compliance Deadlines?
December 1, 2013 – Employers must educate employees regarding new label elements and Safety Data Sheets format.
June 1, 2015 – Chemical manufacturers, importers, distributors and employers must be in compliance with all modified provisions of the Standard, except;
December 1, 2015 – Distributors are no longer allowed to ship containers with labels that are not compliant with the new Standard.
June 1, 2016 – All workplace labeling must be compliant. Employers must also have an updated, compliant hazard communication program and provide any additional employee training for newly identified physical or health hazards.
